Who Are We?
The Sydney Prayer Breakfast is an annual prayer gathering of Christians from all denominations who work or live in the Sydney CBD.
We seek to:
- call on our Heavenly Father for his mercy and blessing upon the people of the city;
- encourage believers in their trust and obedience to Jesus Christ; and
- be a light to our fellow workers and neighbours in the city.

Neville Cox - Chairman
‘Neville has had many years experience as a senior executive in the banking and finance industry. He is currently a director of several companies in the banking, superannuation and technology industries as well as the not-for-profit sector.
He is passionate about developing leaders and mentors senior business executives and leaders in Christian ministry.’
Wendy Simpson
Wendy Simpson is Executive Chairman of Westray Engineering, a global precision metal manufacturing company with operations in China, Thailand and Australia. She is also a director of an Australian Property Development company.
Prior to this she was Senior Vice President, Alcatel Asia Pacific, based in Shanghai and she has also held senior leadership positions in TNT Airfreight, QBE Insurance and BHP.
Wendy has been a three time finalist in the Telstra Businesswoman of the Year Awards and a finalist in the Shanghai Businesswoman of the Year Awards.
She has been a foundation director of a number of community organisations including the Australian Council of Businesswomen, the International Women’s Federation of Commerce and Industry and “Create Foundation” a not- for- profit for young people in care.
She and her husband Geoff live in Sydney and have a long history of caring for disadvantaged young people. They also have been members of Church in the Marketplace, Bondi Junction for more than 15 years.
Andrew Tyndale
Andrew spent 26 years in investment banking with organizations including Macquarie Bank Limited, Mellon Bank, a predecessor to UBS and, for the most recent 13 years, Babcock & Brown.
In an attempt to marry his financial industry and not-for-profit experiences, Andrew has founded Grace Aged Care Limited to finance nursing home operators in the NFP sector.
Over the years, Andrew’s public company directorships have included a number of Babcock & Brown group companies, as well as AUDOC Group Limited, Biota Holdings Limited, Chandler MacLeod Limited, Golden Circle Limited and Carnivale Limited.
Andrew’s ongoing board roles include the Chairmanship of Opportunity International Australia Limited, the Australian arm of a global Christian aide organization, and Gloria Jean’s Coffees International.
Andrew is Canadian-born and Australian by choice. He has been married to Philippa for 26 years, and they have 3 young-adult children. C3 Oxford Falls has been his spiritual home for all his time in Australia and he has several leadership roles there.
Fred Chilton
Fred Chilton is a senior Corporate and Commercial Partner at the leading Australian and regional law firm, Allens Arthur Robinson. He is also Chairman of the Bush Church Aid Society, a member of the Northern Regional Council of the Diocese of Sydney and a Synod representative for St Stephen's Willoughby which he and his wife attend. He assisted on a pro-bono basis in the establishment of the Centre for Public Christianity and Christian Surfers International. He has five adult children, two daughters-in-law and one grand-daughter. All of the children are involved in lay leadership in different churches in Sydney and Palmerston North, New Zealand.
Peter Kaldor
Peter manages a national ministry to workers known as the City Bible Forum. It seeks to make the Bible clear and accessible to city workers around the nation. Previously he worked in banking in Sydney and Zurich, Switzerland. He is married to Bettina and they have three children. In his spare time he enjoys participating in off-road endurance events.
Russ Matthews
Russ grew up in the heartland of the US, the beautiful state of Iowa. In the last ten years, Russ worked in pharmaceutical sales and sales management. He and his family recently moved to Sydney to assist with city ministry work and church planting. In his current position with City Bible Forum, Russ oversees the communications, marketing and fellowship planting. He helps in the coordination of the City Bible Forum meetings and occasionally has a go at speaking. Russ is married to Cathy and they have four children.
Karl Faase
Karl Faase has been the Senior Pastor at Gymea Baptist Church in Sydney’s southern suburbs for more than fourteen years. Gymea Baptist is a multi-faceted church with a heart for reaching its community. Karl has wider leadership experience including the role of Executive Director of the Australian Arrow Leadership Development Program and he was the cofounder of the Media Project, “Jesus – all about life”. Karl is the director of the media organisation “Olive Tree Media” which has several media products played around Australia and internationally in both radio and television. Olive Tree Media has produced radio spots, TV series such as “Face to Face” and the new program, “The Mens Series”, as well as specials for free to air television and DVDs such as “Remembering 59”. Karl also sits on several boards including Samaritans Purse (Australia), BGEA (Australia), Christian Television Australia, Sydney Prayer Breakfast and Southern Community Welfare. Karl speaks regularly around the country at various events and conferences.
Karl is married to Jane and has three adult children... Timothy, Ainsley & Ellie.
